We bought a house! And we are moving WAY sooner than I thought we would. We got mutual acceptance yesterday and we close on March 6 which is less than two and a half weeks away. Augh! I will be so sad to leave our house, ward, and friends here in Marysville. But I am excited that Eric will be only 15 minutes (on a good day) from work. We will be happy to say good bye to the hour and a half commute each way and eating dinner at 8:00 pm. The house is in Renton in an area called the Renton Highlands. For my non-Seattle friends that is 15 minutes south of Seattle (w/o traffic of course). We didn't think we'd be able to live that close in, but amazingly it worked out. We'll be further from my parents (about an hour and forty-five minutes) which is sad, but closer to Eric's family which is great. We'll be about 10 minutes from Eric's parents' and 20 minutes from his brother's family. Hopefully they don't get sick of us!
Needless to say, I have a lot to do in the next two weeks. Thankfully Eric's company is relocating him so they are paying for movers to move all of our stuff for us. Without that there is no way we'd be able to move that quickly. All I have to pack up is a few personal items and cleaning supplies, the movers do the rest.
Our new house is beautiful. We are so excited about it. There is one slight drawback, the side of the house is on a busy road. But that's how we were able to get such a nice house in such a desirable location. I'm not worried about the traffic noise during the day and I'm sure I'll be fine with it at night. It's new construction, so we're going to have to get the back yard fenced and put in sod. Before we can move in we also need to buy a new refrigerator, a garage door opener, and some blinds for the windows. The house doesn't come with those things either. The builder is called Norris Homes and they build a beautiful house. Everything is upgraded. We have granite and tile counter tops, high ceilings, wood flooring, chair rails with shadow boxing, coffered ceilings in the dining and master, and other things like that. I'll post pictures of the inside when I take some. We have a walk-through on Friday so I'll try to take some then. I can't put the link to the floor plan because it's a pdf, so if you click here and then click on "Jefferson" which is in the first section called "Norris Classic" you can see the pdf.
