I got the patterns for the pages from my cousin Amy. Thanks Amy! Amy is so amazing that she has made two quiet books and she even made carrying cases for them. Crazy girl.

Quiet Book
I FINALLY finished Kaylin's quiet book. I gave it to her for her birthday. Her birthday was my motivation to finish it. I started the book months and months ago, but it took so long that I kept getting tired of working on it. I had to buy a ton of stuff for it too. The worst part was cutting out all of the felt pieces (each removable piece is 2 layers), sewing them all together, and attaching the velcro or snap. The other pages weren't as bad. After Christmas, I spent a few hours a day on the book. I am sooooo glad that it's finished. I will NEVER make one like this again. I might possibly make the 3-ring type using pellon for the pages (mine is muslin). That way I could make 2 pages at a time. I also wouldn't do as many pages with detachable pieces. We have brought the book with us to church twice now. The first Sunday Kaylin didn't care much about it. The second Sunday she enjoyed taking some of the pieces off and putting them back on. She loved the pencil and pad of paper at the end. I really hope that it's something that will keep her busy (and quiet :-)). I worked too hard on it for her to not like it!

WOW! That is an amazing book! I cannot believe all the detail...no wonder it took so much work!
I'm glad kaylin likes it. She better like it, right, for all the time you put into it? :) It looks great! Reminds me of one I used to play with growing up.
You are so crafty with the sewing machine!
Yay Brianne!! So glad that you got it all done! I loved quite books growing up... hopefully Kaylin does too!
ok you seriously need to sell those I would buy one for sure, that is sooo cute I love it. I want one:) anyway. how are ya? it's been a long time. cute pumpkins too:) when I first saw your blog I thought, wow she hasn't updated since Halloween, funny. --Lesha
Great Job Brianne! Yours looks great! I have actually made three of them so far in my life. I probably won't make anymore though. I read Leesha's comment and I wouldn't recommend selling them. Too much head ache and you won't make much of a profit off them. I've looked up how much people pay and it's not much more than what you spend on all the material and stuff. But I'm sure Kaylin will like it soon. My boys took forever to like it and now they enjoy it more. They will REALLY like it a lot more when they learn to read. They don't know what the pages really say on them yet. Anywhoo.....great job! Sorry I gave you such a hard one to make.
