My big girl

Kaylin has been sleeping in her new, big bed for nearly 2 weeks and she loves it. Here she is on the first night:

She has yet to sleep under the sheets, but she loves the pillow. We didn't have any problems switching her into her new room and new bed. We would have kept her in her crib longer because she hasn't ever tried to climb out, but I wanted to get her used to her new room and bed before the baby comes.

Now if we could just master going #2 in the toilet. Any tips are welcome :-).

Halloween preview:

Aunt Carly and Uncle Parker came for a visit with baby Jack. They brought a chicken costume for Kaylin to borrow. She wanted to put it on, which is a good sign. Last year Eric wore Kaylin's costume while we went trick-or-treating. Hopefully she'll wear her own costume this year.

We took Evan to the store and let him pick out a toy he really wanted. Then we mounted it on the wall above the toilet and gave him a sticker on a sticker chart every time he went in the toilet. When the chart was full (30 stickers I think) he got the toy. By then he had it down.

Kaylin looks very serious in that bed of hers. I guess the process needs to be on her terms, eh? Funny little girl. You are wise to start the process early.

(#2... I'm still working on it myself, but don't tell anyone!)

Oh my #2. What is it with #2? Cooper had #1 down for ages before he would do #2. The only thing that worked was major persistence.
When I knew he had to go I sat his potty in the living room in front of the tv with his favorite show on and made him sit, with a sucker (I NEVER allow him suckers) until he went. He threw fits and got up and I took away his sucker and turned the tv off. Then he would sit back down and get those things back. Don't get me wrong, he pooped on the floor and all over himself for a while, I don't know what it was but he would start going and freak out and stand up! Grrr..
But I didn't give up! It was weeks of sitting at home missing out on stuff because I knew he had to go and I refused to ever put him in a pull up.
Now he runs off to the potty, hauls himself up there and tells me to "go away" and then calls me when he's done :) It will happen, have faith! :)
