Random pictures

Kaylin decided to take her diaper off during one of her naps. The bed was covered in pee and her shirt got wet too. I took her clothes off, but she really didn't want me to put new ones on. While I was putting all of her bedding, her bunny, and her clothes in the washing machine Kaylin found her hat in my bag and wanted me to put it on her. I took her to the kitchen for a snack and while in her booster seat she saw a pair of her sunglasses and wanted them on. That's the explanation for this picture:

Here's Eric singing kareoke this past Sunday. It was a Simon and Garfunkel song, I don't remember which one. For those of you who know Eric well, this is a hilarious thing.

Here are Kaylin and Rachel playing in Rachel's pool. Rachel has mastered the art of saying "cheese" and Kaylin still has no clue what's going on.

Renton River Days-Parade

We went to the Renton River Days Parade on Saturday. Kaylin didn't seem to care.

Here are Eric and Kaylin having a serious conversation:

Sometimes Kaylin wants to wear her sunglasses, especially when it's not sunny:

As you can see, Kaylin wasn't too enthralled by the parade:

Go Seahawks!!!

Blue Thunder (Seahawks drum core):

This is the football league Eric played in until he was a freshman in high school, so I took a picture:

Renton River Days-Petting Zoo

On Friday we took Kaylin to Renton River Days downtown. They had a small petting zoo. At first Kaylin didn't even let me put her down, but eventually she walked around a little bit. She didn't pet any of the animals, but she did look at a few of them.

I'm not sure what we're by in this picture, some sort of small bird I think:

Kaylin and Rachel by the kittens (odd animal for a petting zoo...):

The best part about Kaylin not wanting to touch a single animal??? We didn't have to stop at the hand washing station on our way out!

Water park

Eric took the day off yesterday to go shooting with his brother, dad, and nieces in the morning and then to go to the water park in the afternoon. We met Eric's brother's family and Laura and Carter at the PACKED water park. It took me so long to find parking that I thought I was going to have to turn around and go home. Luckily a spot opened up and we were able to stay.

Here is Kaylin getting ready to go in the water:

Kaylin and Daddy trying to get warm, it was windy out!

That's all the picture we have. We also took Kaylin in the wave pool twice, the regular swimming pool, and the "lazy river". She's 14 inches too short to go on the slides :-). We had a blast!

Random pics

Here are a few pictures of what we (meaning Kaylin) have been up to lately. And you can still write a memory of me on my last post, even if you're not going to play along on your blog. :-)

Here is Kaylin last week at Lake Washington... brrrrrrrr!

Kaylin's new favorite hang out is our bath tub. She brought the books and toys in there herself.

Kaylin and Rylee (sorry if I'm spelling it wrong Krista!) on the motorcycles at Coulon Park on Lake Washington.

Kaylin and Rylee hanging out at Eric's work after a long afternoon of shopping and NO NAPS. What good buds! It looks like Kaylin isn't quite sure why Rylee has her arm around her, she's not so good at posing for pictures yet. And yes, this picture was taken today, July 23, and it's cold outside. This is Seattle after all.

What are your memories of ME??

I have been trying to come up with something to blog about since my last post was a week ago. But there hasn't been much to talk about lately. Aunt Lolo (not my aunt, but she is an aunt) had this on her blog today, so I figured I'd give it a try. Please play!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you!

Thanks!!!

The baby birdies are here!

The eggs in the nest in a flower pot at my in-laws hatched! All four baby birds are hungry and chirpy. Their eyes haven't opened yet, so I think they thought I was their mommy with a tasty worm treat for them. Uh... no thanks.

Aren't they so cute?

More crafting!

I've been wanting a new tote bag for awhile. Every time I go to Target or other stores like that I look at the bags, but anything that I like I think it too expensive and anything on clearance I think is ugly. Solution? I made one myself. You should have guessed that by now if you know much about me. I got the tutorial here. (She has lots of other great tutorials... be warned!)

But did I stop there? No way! I made a small bag to go inside for my wallet, keys, Kaylin's binky, etc. Yes, the outside has two pockets, but I wanted more. I added a loop on the small bag and used the same ribbon that I used for the ties on the tote to attach the small bag to the tote. I used snaps on both ends of the ribbon so I can detach the small bag if I want.

I also decoupaged a clip board for Relief Society. We pass a lot of sign-ups and things around and I cannot stand the old ugly clipboard we were using (yes, Max, if you are reading this, this is the ugly clipboard with the dog sticker on it that you gave me before you moved). I want to add some ribbons on the clip, or at least one ribbon with a pen attached to it. If you want to learn more about decoupaging, go here. She has lots of cool projects on her blog involving decoupage and other stuff too.

In case you're wondering, "MWH RS" stands for "Maplewood Heights Relief Society". Yeah, I don't want any of the boys stealing my pretty clipboard ;-).

A day of firsts

Kaylin turned 18 months old on the 3rd, so yesterday was her first full Sunday in nursery without parents! Eric took her during Sunday School the past two weeks. Since she wasn't 18 months old yet a parent had to be in there with her and neither of us could stay for the first hour (Priesthood and Relief Society for our ward... we have the joy of the backwards schedule). We were hoping that she would do fine for 2 hours and that the leaders wouldn't have to come get us. She did great! Eric went in for the first 5 minutes or so and then snuck out.

Here is Kaylin before church, obviously very excited to go to nursery:

And here she is after church, apparently nursery must have been pretty fun:

Besides the first day of nursery, Kaylin and Carter had their first (and second, and third...) kiss. We kept telling them to kiss so we could try to get a picture. Hopefully they don't go kissing every kid they see now. Too funny. I can see this being a great blackmail picture in a few years ;-).

Bird's nest

My in-laws have the cutest bird's nest in a flower pot on their deck. I just had to take pictures. My mother-in-law says they're chickadees. I hope I get to see the babies!!
