Kaylin's Fashion Corner: Wedding Edition

The other day I found Kaylin dressed like this:

She told me that she was getting married. To the sunglasses-clad alligator of course.

Don't they make a cute couple?

No more pictures, please!

Runaway bride.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch with our preschool friends. First, we went on a hay ride around the pumpkin patch.

You won't believe it based on the picture, but Kaylin wanted to take a picture with Lauren in the wheelbarrow. All of her expressions looked like this:

Next, Kaylin wanted a picture with her friend. She was much happier this time:

Kaylin often pulls her socks over her leggings. She's pretty fashionable.

After the pumpkin patch we decided to hit up McD's (or Old McDonald's as Kaylin calls it) for lunch and stinky toys.
One of the kids didn't want to waste his valuable play time eating at the table. Here are the rest of the kiddos.

Port Townsend

In case you haven't heard.... Eric has a new job. He now works some Saturdays, and when he does, he has a day off during the week. On his first weekday off, we headed up to Port Townsend, which is on the northeast corner of the Olympic Peninsula.

It was really windy.

Point Wilson Lighthouse

Fort Worden--Kaylin refused to pose for a picture.

Chetzemoka Park

Yes, Lauren was there too.

It was a fun day trip and we were home before dinner time.

Fish Hatchery

For September's preschool field trip we went to the fish hatchery in Issaquah. It's the best fish hatchery I've been to. The salmon come from the Puget Sound through Lake Washington and into Issaquah Creek to spawn.

We had a tour guide to take us around the hatchery and teach us about the salmon. Kaylin remembered her and when we went back another day for a visit she saw her and said, "There she is!" and tried to follow her.

The kids by the big spawning salmon statues

Do you see the two salmon? The salmon that make it over this waterfall spawn naturally in the creek. Most of the salmon go through gates at the far side of this waterfall into the fish ladder and are bred by the hatchery.

Lots of fish.

The hatchery also raises trout to be placed in a local pond. They let the kids feed the trout at the end of the tour.

We had so much fun that we went back two weeks later.

Also... Please notice that Kaylin is wearing JEANS. Shocking, I know. I'm not quite sure how I coerced her into wearing them. She immediately changed into a dress when we got home.

Lauren is 10 months old

Lauren is 10 months old! Here she is taking a break from her favorite activity, climbing the stairs:

Break's over. Back to climbing.

Her top two teeth are half way in and a couple more have broken through. She is such a sweetheart. She plays really well by herself and with Kaylin (when Kaylin isn't tackling her, I think Kaylin watches too much football with Daddy). She is a good sleeper, she's going to bed around 7:30 and waking up around 6:30 or 7:30. I can usually keep her in her crib until 8 or 8:30. She is still napping twice a day. Sometimes she cries if I leave the room or if someone holds her, while slightly annoying, it's good for my self-esteem.

Jack-o-lantern Soap Dispenser

I saw this idea for a jack-o-lantern soap dispenser. I thought it was so cute; I just had to make one.

Luckily for me, I was going to Target today anyway, so I was able to pick up the soap dispenser. I already had some black Cricut vinyl on hand from a previous project. I just drew the face free-hand on the paper side of the vinyl and cut it out. I also had some orange and black ribbon in my stash. I keep pretty much all ribbon that comes through my house, which totally worked out for me today. See that cute candy corn ribbon? I had just the right amount.

I don't have a lot of decorations for fall, so this was a nice addition. I absolutely love it! I put it in the half bathroom downstairs. If you come over I'll probably force you to check it out.
