Happy Halloween!

For playgroup yesterday we had a little Halloween party. Here are Kaylin and Rylee, both smiling for the camera, amazing! Notice that Kaylin is wearing a shirt and tights. She refused to put her costume on.

One of the moms made cupcakes. Here is Kaylin delicately licking the frosting off of hers.

She eats so slowly that all of the kids finished theirs and the floor needed to get cleaned up, so I moved her to the highchair. Notice how much of her cupcake is left.

I'm not sure if she ate any. About a half an hour later, it was time to go home and she still had her whole cupcake left. I told her that we could take it home and she could finish it later. That didn't go over well. She was madder than I've ever seen her. Her face was bright red and she was screaming. As I took the cupcake from her she ripped off part of the bottom and jammed it into her mouth. She was still screaming so it took her awhile to eat what she stuffed in. I was finally able to get her to leave. As soon as we got home she grabbed the bag with the cupcake in it and demanded in her chair. She actually ate the cupcake this time.

This afternoon I took Kaylin to Eric's office. She didn't want to wear her costume again, but I made her. After a little bit of crying she calmed down. Here she is coloring.

For some reason there is a typewriter at Eric's work. Kaylin loves it. I guess they used to print checks on it. I don't really care why they have it, but I hope they keep it because it's right at Kaylin's level and she likes to type on it.

We're going to go trick-or-treating tonight just on our street so we can meet our neighbors. Kaylin doesn't say "trick-or-treat", I'm hoping I'll be able to get her to say "peeeeease" (please). After that we're going to Eric's alma mater's last football game of the season. We haven't made it to one yet, so tonight's our last chance.

Super Saturday!

We're having a Super Saturday craft day at our church on Saturday, November 22 from 10 am - 2 pm. I keep forgetting to invite people not from my ward. pre-Halloween festivities

At playgroup a couple of weeks ago the kids made bats with pom poms and painted hand prints. They turned out really cute, but I forgot to take a picture of the finished product before Kaylin gave hers to Nana. Here is Kaylin "helping" Kristina with Rachel's bat.

The ward Halloween party was a lot of fun. Kaylin was fine wearing her costume the whole time, but we also had to hold her pretty much the whole time. This year Eric went as a basketball player (AGAIN).

As you can see here, she did not want me to put her down for the picture. At least everyone else looks cute. Don't you love the Wi's coordinating costumes (Bryce was a ref)?? The football is the best!

Kaylin stopped crying for the family picture, but you can see from her face that she is not very happy with us. You can't really tell from the picture, but I am the tooth fairy. Maybe next year we'll be cool like the Wis and have coordinating costumes.

I think next Halloween will be better. Well, I hope it will be. At least Kaylin looked cute.

Happy late birthday to ME!

My birthday was almost 2 weeks ago and I keep meaning to post some pictures.

My mom bought me some super cute shoes and these awesome pumpkins:



I love the pumpkins! I found the napkin underneath them on clearance at Pier 1. FYI... Pier 1 has a great clearance section. I realized when getting out my fall decorations that I really don't have any fall decorations. Good thing I got these pumpkins!

The day before my birthday was Ryanne's luau. After the luau Eric took me to get some dessert. When we got home from getting cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory (well... we bought cheesecake there and then ate it in the fabulous newly renovated Southcenter Mall because the wait at CF was almost an hour and a half), these were on my doorstep.

When did Eric's handwriting get so good?

My birthday was on a Sunday so we didn't really do anything. Eric took Monday off and we went shopping for my real birthday present... A LAPTOP!!! Woo hoo! I am so excited. If anyone has any tips on what to buy, let me know :-). It's my birthday/my Christmas/Eric's Christmas present. I'm cool with that. Monday night we went to dinner at my favorite place, Claim Jumper, and our wonderful friends the Heals watched Kaylin for us. Thanks guys!

The guy in the picture in indeed Vili Fualaau, the one who is married to his former teacher Mary Kay Letourneau. She was at the party for awhile too, but I don't have any pictures. Anyway, Eric's sister-in-law's uncle is their neighbor. Vili is also a DJ. And that my friends, is why he was at my niece's 1st birthday luau.

Welcome Kylie!

Cassie (Patten) Erga had her baby on October 8! Cassie and Mike named her Kylie Cherryl (Cherryl after Cassie's mom who passed away last December). Kylie is a doll!

Luau

For Ryanne's first birthday party she had a Hawaiian Luau with her "cousin". Ryanne is 10 months old and her "cousin" is 15 months old, but whatever. As you can see, it was not your typical luau. Here is what Kaylin wore the whole time, hood up and all.And 10 Schrute bucks for anyone who can name the famous (or would that be infamous??) guy in the next picture. If you were at the party or I already told you then please don't spoil it!

"Conversation" with Kaylin

While Eric was pumping gas on Saturday morning I had a quick conversation with Kaylin. First, I turned around in my seat so I could look at her while talking. This was met with a scowl and a shout of "NO!". So I turned back around and she was much happier with that.

Me: Did you sleep well last night?
K: Yeah.
Me: Did you have good dreams?
K: Yeah.
Me: What did you dream about?
K: Daddy.
Me: Do you love Daddy?
K: Yeah.
Me: Is Daddy your favorite?
K: Yeah.
Me: Do you love Mommy?
K: (pause) Daddy!

Humph.

Baby legs and hair clips

Here are the baby legs I just made for Kaylin. They are pretty easy. You just buy a pair of socks, cut them up, and turn part of the sock into a cuff and sew it on. They took me maybe 10 minutes per pair. I should have made a tutorial, but I didn't. Here is the one I used. One of the steps isn't completely clear, but even if you don't follow it exactly (which I didn't on the brown dots pair), it still comes out fine. OR... if you don't sew, all you have to do is cut off a pair of socks at the base of the ankle (right above the heal), and you're done (that's for you Kelsey ;-)).

If you know Kaylin, you know that she loves her hair pretties. She must be wearing one pretty much at all times. I usually take it out before her nap and as soon as she's up she wants it back in. Here are some I made yesterday. Some are for her and some are for someone else.
