I think Kaylin likes chocolate

Kaylin went into the pantry yesterday afternoon. Normally she doesn't get into anything she shouldn't. Sometimes she plays with toys in there, sometimes she eats crackers, sometimes she rearranges things. She was in the pantry for a short time when I heard a ripping sound. I wasn't sure what the sound could be, so I went to find out. Here is what I found:

I couldn't even scold her because I was laughing so hard. When I opened the door, Kaylin said, "Mommy, hand wash." I finally figured out today where the chocolate bar came from. I think it came in the Christmas food box from my grandparents. That tells you how much candy we eat around here (sorry, Kelsey). Kaylin just came to see what I was doing. She pointed at her picture and said, "Kaylin chocolate on the face."

Another funny Kaylin story: She was just coloring and she had me draw a circle in each color, she does that pretty much every time she colors. Then, while pointing at each color circle, she said, "Purple, orange, brown, yellow, green, blue... that spells Kaylin!"

Fun at the beach

Since it was so sunny and HOT out (the news said it hit 80 today, that's hot for Seattle, especially in May), we went to the lake with some friends.

Here's where Kaylin spent most of her time:

She did venture off the blanket a couple of times. I took pictures for proof.

I think these might be the last pictures from my current camera. I think it died after I took this last picture. The screen is flashing and it won't take any pictures. Good news=I can get a new camera. Bad news=a new camera is NOT in the budget.

Kaylin is thrilled...

to announce that she's going to be a
big sister!!!!!
Stats:
Due date: December 7
How preggo am I: 12 weeks (3 months)
How long did it take this time: 18 months. 1 surgery. 2 IUIs (intrauterine insemination) with clomid. This child can NEVER say it wasn't wanted.
How do I feel: I've been better.
Will we find out the gender: Oh yes. I am calling to schedule the ultrasound today so that I can get in as close to 18 weeks as possible.
I had my 12 week appointment today. The doctor couldn't find the heartbeat, so he brought in the ultrasound and we got to see the baby instead. I am happy to report that the baby has a heartbeat, a head, a torso, and legs (that's what we saw :-)).
So there you go. Now all of you who already knew don't have to worry about not telling anyone else. And anyone who knew and thought they "weren't supposed to know yet" can pretend like they just found out.

Calling all super parents...

See this adorable girl?
This little darling decided to take off all of her clothes, including her diaper, twice in her crib today. When I went in to get her this morning, she was naked. When I went to get her after her nap, she was naked. Luckily she kept her bed dry this morning, no such luck this afternoon. But it could have been worse. Much worse.
Here's where all of my super parent friends come in: Help! Does anyone have any fabulous ideas on how to keep at least her diaper on?? Here's what I have so far:
1. Potty train her (day and night) IMMEDIATELY. Ha!
2. Duct tape. Lots of duct tape. Don't tell CPS.

Sweetest husband EVER

Eric came home an hour and a half early from work today with these:
He then asked if I wanted to go out to dinner. Of course I did! We went to the Toreros down the street for yummy Mexican.
Kaylin liked the pico de gallo, but had a hard time getting it onto her chip. Eric helped her out:
I tried to get a cute posed picture of them. It didn't work out so well. This is actually the best one I got. Kaylin has a fixation about her nose lately when she gets put on the spot. And no... her finger is not inside of her nose!
After Kaylin got tired of the chips and pico de gallo she snuck over to my side of the table to drink some of my "juice" (aka pink lemonade). She loved the little green straw.
And why did Eric do all of this today? Today is the 6 year anniversary of the day we met. He remembers every year. I think this is the first year that I remembered too. The first year he caught me completely off guard. What a sweetheart! I love you, Eric!

Cuties

Our good friends, the Greens, blessed their new baby, Max, at church on Sunday. Afterwards we went to their house for some yummy lunch. Kaylin and Carter decided to be all cute on the stairs, so we of course took pictures. Aren't they ADORABLE??? (Please excuse Kaylin's missing hair bow and tights :-).)

In case you don't watch Oprah...

You can get a free 2 piece meal at KFC. You get 2 pieces of chicken, 2 sides, and a biscuit. Yum! You have to download the coupon by tomorrow 9:59 pm CDT. I'm totally printing two and then going in to KFC and having Eric and me order separately so we can each use a coupon. Aren't I tricky? Yea for Oprah and free dinner!

Hide and Seek with Nana and Grandpa

On Saturday night before Easter, Kaylin and my parents had a great time playing hide and go seek. At first they hid in various places downstairs. But then they decided to just hide under blankets.
My dad is on the left and my mom is on the right:
"I found you!"
Another great hiding place my dad found:
"Surprise!"

Easter

The Saturday before Easter we dropped Jen, Joe, and Ian off at the airport in the morning and my parents came that afternoon. We had an Easter egg hunt for Kaylin. It took her a few minutes to figure it out, but once she did she had a blast. We had to rehide the eggs several times.
We let her eat a few pieces of candy. After that we replaced all of the candy with cereal. She didn't seem to mind.
Here is Kaylin on Easter morning with her basket from the Easter Bunny.
After church, we went to the Stephens' for dinner and another egg hunt. This time they just hid jelly beans. At first, Kaylin just wanted to eat every piece she found. But then she realized that she could put them in her cup and have them later.
